Suzanne Fletcher, Former NBTA CEO and President, Joins Concur
Brings extensive business travel industry knowledge, leadership to company’s global expansion efforts
Redmond, Wash., March 13, 2008 – Concur (Nasdaq: CNQR), the world’s leading provider of on-demand business services that automate Employee Spend Management, today announced the appointment of Suzanne Fletcher as director of travel management. In her new role, Fletcher will manage Concur’s global travel service relationships, both internally and externally, playing a critical role in continuing to build out Concur Connect, a global program that connects travel suppliers from around the world to more than $35 billion of spend driven by Concur's more than 6,000 clients.
“Suzanne’s deep industry knowledge and expertise make her a great fit as Concur works on behalf of our clients to revolutionize the supply chain by strengthening and expanding our growing list of partners,” said Rajeev Singh, president and chief operating officer for Concur. “Her impressive background as a Fortune 500 travel manager combined with her successful leadership of NBTA gives Suzanne a unique perspective into the needs of corporate travel managers and the business travelers they support.”
Fletcher most recently served as the president and CEO of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), a post she filled since 2005. During that time she represented NBTA at major corporate travel industry events and shows around the world. She currently sits on the NBTA board, serving as chairman and immediate past president. Fletcher has a long standing relationship with the association, having been active in leadership roles within national and local chapters of the organization. She has served as a board member, chairman and director at large over the past ten years.
"Concur is a leader in our industry, and a company that I’ve long respected," said Fletcher. "As a former Concur client whose managed travel program has benefited from the advances they've made in the industry, and as a leader of NBTA who has worked in partnership with them to move the industry forward, I'm excited to join this dynamic team and help to build out the Concur Connect network.”
During her more than 18 years of experience with the travel industry, Fletcher has held the director of travel and meeting management, fleet, transportation and food service for Weyerhaeuser Corporation. From 1991 to 1996, Fletcher served as director of travel and meeting for Nestle USA. She is a frequent speaker at industry events and has been honored with industry awards including the 2003 NBTA President’s Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution as an NBTA Direct Member and being named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Executives in corporate travel by Business Travel News in 2006.
