Kithara »Serial Toolkit« - Serial Real-time Communication under Windows for Industrial Applications

As a specialist for real-time communication and hardware dependent programming Kithara Software provides with the »Serial Toolkit« a versatile tool for serial communication under Windows for developers and system dependent programmers.

The »Serial Toolkit« supports programmers in developing communication protocols for serial interfaces of the PC. So it enables complex communication solutions for hardware dependent and time critical applications in the industrial automation process.

With the »Serial Toolkit« Kithara again attaches importance to plainest applicability. By fast and intuitive practice in the several scenarios developers accelerate the process of developing their applications significantly.
With two different implementations the »Serial Toolkit« provides a scope for developers according to their respective requirements: First, by using the operating system functions all COM interfaces which are known in the system can be called. Furthermore, on the kernel level real-time capabilities will be realized, so hardware can be affected directly. This way the time-exact handling of all interface events will be feasible.

The developer acts on the kernel level without to leave his usual programming environment. So the practice in complex kernel programming is not necessary and the developing process will be passed off more effective.

The »Serial Toolkit« allows fast and flexible reaction to incoming data and events, latencies are only few microseconds. Handshake lines are selectable directly and an endless mode for specific scenarios is provided, e.g. for direct sending out of the application buffer. Furthermore the reaction on timeouts for sending or receiving processes and the handling of transmission errors is flexibly programmable by the developer.

The kernel support is provided for the programming languages C/C++ and Delphi (native). There is limited support for C# and so the .NET environment. The »Serial Toolkit« runs on the operating systems Windows NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista (32 bit).
