Scottsdale Skin Rejuvenation Breakthrough: Fraxel Laser Treatment Available at Infini Cosmetic Associates

/24-7PressRelease.com/ - SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Jan. 26, 2005 -An innovative skin therapy called FraxelTM Laser Treatment (FLT) is available to residents of the Greater Scottsdale area looking for a radical improvement in their skin"s appearance and condition. Dr. William Hall, medical director of Infini Cosmetic Associates, is the first physician to offer FLT in the greater Scottsdale area. FLT is an important innovation in the of sun spots, age spots, rough skin and fine wrinkles. FLT provides similar results to ablative (CO2) laser skin resurfacing with the quick-healing times of non-ablative pulsed light skin treatments. With FLT there is virtually no "downtime" - allowing patients to resume normal activity the same day as their treatment.

FLT bridges the gap between ablative laser resurfacing (which offers dramatic results but a lengthy recovery) and non-ablative pulsed light treatments (which offer marginal improvements but do not harm the outer layer of the skin). Using technological advancements that allow it to target intermittent, specific areas of the skin while not harming the surrounding tissue, FLT smoothes wrinkles and eradicates sun spots, age spots, and uneven skin pigmentation while stimulating new collagen production in the middle layers of the skin. The top layer of the skin is unharmed and surrounding, untreated tissues help facilitate a quick recovery. While a patient may experience pinkness after the treatment, makeup can be applied and all normal activities can be resumed immediately.

"The benefits that FLT provides are really exciting," said Dr. Hall. "Patients can now get unparalleled results - remarkably smoother skin with fewer age or sun spots - without having to go through the prolonged and sometimes painful healing period associated with laser skin resurfacing." In addition to having better results than other non-ablative treatments, FLT also requires fewer treatments. A typical patient only needs three to five treatments. Results are both seen immediately as well as progressively. Most patients can see an improvement in their skin quality when they leave their first appointment, however, skin will continue to improve as the collagen has time to regenerate.

Palo Alto research company Reliant Technologies created FLT to correct skin in much the same way a person would spot correct a photograph. Instead of correcting pixel-by-pixel, FLT corrects cell-by-cell. FLT targets thousands of minute, exact spots on the skin called Micro Thermal Zones (MTZ) while not harming the surrounding tissues. This thermal treatment causes cells in the MTZ to repair themselves - creating new collagen production - while the surrounding, untreated cells will facilitate rapid healing for the entire treatment area. Treatment takes less than two hours (with the actual FLT application taking less than 30 minutes) and requires virtually no downtime.
