AIRCOM to Boost Mobifone’s Network Performance
Leatherhead, UK – AIRCOM International, the leading independent network planning and optimisation consultancy, has been chosen by Vietnam’s Mobifone, to provide tools to track its mobile network performance. Mobifone, which is part of state-owned Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, has purchased OPTIMA and DIRECT, from AIRCOM’s ENTERPRISE 6.0 tool suite.
Mobifone is the biggest network operator in Vietnam, with more than 8.5 million subscribers. It is using OPTIMA, an advanced network performance management and monitoring tool, to more effectively manage its multi-vendor, multi-technology environment. OPTIMA tracks network performance, alerts engineers to network issues and offers the capability to more easily distribute the relevant data to the right people – all from 12 integrated software modules.
“This is an exciting time for AIRCOM,” says Nick Brown, Regional MD Asia, AIRCOM International. “Our Asia-Pacific footprint continues to expand and we are pleased to add Mobifone to the growing list of operators that benefit from our expertise.”
DIRECT is AIRCOM’s transmission access and core planning tool. Deploying it will help Mobifone integrate transmission data from the network into a single database - allowing for easier network planning and optimisation. In addition, AIRCOM will provide tools training to Mobifone engineers, to ensure seamless network integration.”
“Mobifone’s growth since its inception 14 years ago has been impressive.” continued Brown. “It was the first operator to roll-out a GSM 900/1800 network and continues to be a pioneer of the Vietnamese mobile industry. We look forward to helping maintain a fully optimised network across the country.”
